For an ABDOMINAL ultrasound, we ask that you not feed your pet for 8 hours prior to the appointment unless your pet is on medication. In this case please, consult your veterinarian for proper instructions. No restrictions on water but we request that you try to not let your pet urinate for 2 hours prior to the appointment for the best evaluation of your pet’s bladder.

For an ECHOCARDIOGAM (ultrasound of the heart)- there are no food or water restrictions.

Please note that your pet’s belly or chest will be shaved for the ultrasound. In the winter, you may want to bring a sweater or blanket for your pet for the ride home after the ultrasound so they don’t get cold.
